According to the established learning programs, the Institute of Ministry «Blagovest» in partnership with Moscow Theological Seminary announces acceptance of applications into the «Master of Church Ministry» Level D program, English equivalent of «Master of Divinity» or «Master of Arts».
The program will be taught in Russian by teachers from the Moscow Theological Seminary, as well as by the professors residing in the U.S. The completion of the program will take 3.5 years. In order to receive the «Master of Divinity», additional courses of Greek and Hebrew languages are required.
The classes begin in January 2019. To enroll into the program, copies of transcripts, and the B.A. degree are required.
Goal of the Program: To give students a deeper theological education with a special emphasis on the practical ministry in the local church.
Prerequisites: B.A. degree in Theology or any secular degree followed by additional theological training. Current ordained church ministers are also welcome to apply (with an interview and approval of the Institute's leadership).
Masters' Program consists of the following: 21 subjects + Masters' dissertation + defense of dissertations + practice
- Subjects: 5 subjects in Bible knowledge, 5 subjects in history and theology, 7 subjects in practical ministry, and 4 general subjects
- In Class: maximum of 36 sessions at 12 credit hours each = 432 hours = 17-18 credits (realistically 33 sessions of 12 hours)
- Independent Study: (reading and writing of homework) – 30-40 credit hours between sessions (at 2 hours per day 7 – 10 hours per week) = 40-60 credits
- Practice: 80 hours = 3-4 credits
- Dissertation: (project of 30-40 pages, or 60-80 page dissertation.) – 180 hours -7-8 credits
- Defense of dissertations – 1 credit.
Total: In 3.5 years it is possible to pass about 90-100 academic credits. Keep in mind that academic credits is the amount of learning exercises, which is equivalent to 25 actual hours (1 hour = 60 minutes.
At the end of the Masters' program, the students will receive a diploma from the Moscow Theological Seminary.
This education requires tuition payments.
